While it’s not impossible to strum a guitar with your right hand if you are left-handed, you may find that you don’t have the same natural strength and dexterity. Left-handed electric guitars are specialty musical instruments as they have the opposite features of traditional guitars. At LAWK STAR Guitars, we offer quality left-handed solid body, semi-hollow body and hollow body guitars by top makers to meet your performance and sound demands. Our selection includes guitars by D’Angelico, Breedlove, Dean, Schecter and PRS.

Choosing a Left-Handed Electric Guitar

Wood Type: The wood that artisans use to make an electric guitar directly affects how it sounds and how long the strings vibrate. As you shop for a left-handed guitar, keep in mind that a guitar’s body may have a different wood than its neck or fingerboard.  Body Type: Electric guitars generally have three body types: solid, semi-hollow and hollow. A solid body guitar has a flat body with no cavities within it. A hollow body guitar is similar to an acoustic guitar, but has F-shaped holes. A semi-hollow body guitar has a solid core, but hollow chambers and F-shaped holes. It produces a better sound at high volumes than hollow body guitars.  Neck Type: One of the most important features of a guitar is comfort. Left-handed guitars have a variety of neck shapes and widths, which affect how comfortable it is to hold and how simple it is for your fingers to reach and move.

As you browse LAWK STAR’s selection of left-handed electric guitars, keep in mind that some of the guitar makers that we represent can make left-handed versions of select instruments. We are more than happy to place a special order for you.
